An aside about seeking assistance with behavioral problems - If you are having problems with your Akbash Dog and want to ask for help, e-mail is probably not the best way. E-messages are efficient at getting you to the appropriate person, but after that, a person-to-person visit or a phone chat will be in order. The complexities of canine behavior are such that many variables have to be dealt with, and even after exhaustive questioning, many behaviorists find they cannot be very effective without a visit to the dog in its own environment. If your problem is specific to a livestock protection dog, you should be contacting someone with that level of expertise. If you have a problem with barking, obedience, aggression, wandering, fleas, ticks, digging, chasing cats, stealing shoes from the hallway or other 'generic' canine behaviors, please look locally for a behaviorist or trainer who is willing to help out. Behavioral problems are not solved by a quick chat. Please be prepared to book a consultation time, and be prepared to pay for the expert advice you will receive.
