vol79-coverpage.jpgPlease visit our rescue/rehome section if interested in a healthy, adult companion dog.  Two sisters in Wyoming have both found good new homes.  A young male is currently in foster care in Missouri; he is ready for a permanent home.  Several working dogs in need of new farms to live on have been successfully re-homed.

November 27, 2008 -   Akbash Dogs International members have by now received their copies of our fall Akbash Sentinel, volume 79.  Now is a good time to send the editor, Hazel Plumbley, photos and information for Here's What's New for the December issue.  We'll end the year with our traditional celebration - the Iron Collar photographic contest.

There is a problem in our membership/joining/renewal section.  This is a fairly new web site, and we're a bunch of dog enthusiast volunteers trying to learn the ways of web design, so please be patient.  There is (legitimate) confusion over membership types and costs.  Anyone, anywhere in the world, can join ADI and receive an electronic version of the Akbash Sentinel for $15US per year.  If you would like to receive print editions of the Sentinel, mailed to your home, the cost increases to pay for printing and mailing.  The annual membership fee with mailed Sentinel is $25 in North America and $35 elsewhere.  A fourth option is to purchase a lifetime membership, which includes print version of the Sentinel, for $1000.  We are working to bring these options to you through the PayPal/joining portion of this web site.  In the meantime, here's how to get around our snafu's ... go to the rescue/rehome section, press on the donate section, then the donate button.  Send $15, 25, 35 or 1000 as described above, using PayPal and your credit card.  THEN - and this is important - please contact Barb Lehmann, our treasurer, by e-mail, and tell her that your 'donation' is really a renewal or new membership.  She will arrange to have the appropriate information (mailing address, e-address, etc.) obtained.  Barb is at belsbusa@verizon.netSooner or later we shall have this technical glitch figured out, but in the meantime, we have this solution.
